TSRTC to Operate 4981 Makar Sankranti Special Buses
HYDERABAD: To tackle the extra passenger rush at the time of the Sankranti festival, TSRTC announced to run festival special buses and provide at least 2.5 Lacs bus seats. Out of these, 1 lac bus seats will be saved for Inter-state transportation from Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana to various destinations of Andhra Pradesh. These festival special buses will operate from 8th January to 13th January. TSRTC has advised passengers to book tickets in advance for a hassle-free journey.
Makar Sakranti is celebrated to mark the beginning of the harvest season in India. It’s the season where people from various parts of the country visit their home towns to celebrate with their family. To make transportation comfortable for people at the time of Makar Sankranti, TSRTC decided to run 4981 festival special buses which will be increased as per demand and rush of the passengers. This will also facilitate social distancing enabling safe and secure travel for passengers.
As per resources, the regional manager of TSRTC – Rangareddy acquainted that the ticket price for regular bus services will remain the same and the festival special buses will run in addition to regular buses. Cities like Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad are expected to see a high volume of buses operating within Telangana.
A total number of 4981 special buses will serve from 8th January to 13th January. These buses will operate from main points such as MGBS, JBS, CBS, and LB Nagar. Out of cumulative buses, 1600 buses are allotted to operate in 30 towns of Andhra Pradesh including Vijaywada, Vishakhapatnam, Guntur, Kadapa, Chittoor, Tirupati, Vizianagaram, and Nellore. Acting as a helping hand to meet the festival rush, the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has also confirmed to run 3607 special buses on the same dates.
