RT-PCR Related Travel Guidelines

With the declining trend of daily positive cases of Covid 19, several states have decided to ease the lockdown situations or completely lift the lockdown. If you are looking to travel to another state or city, know the requirement of a negative RT-PCR report. Below is a consolidated list of requirements by various states in India.

No RT-PCR: No covid related restrictions to enter the state. Travellers need not produce negative RT-PCR reports on arrival.

Mixed Rules: These states have mixed regulations about being fully/partially vaccinated and producing a negative RT-PCR report.

RT-PCR Required: The states on this list have made it mandatory for travellers to submit a negative RT-PCR report on arrival.

Delhi Chattisgarh
Travellers who have been vaccinated do not require a negative RT-PCR report
Andaman & Nicobar
48 hrs prior to the time of journey, and mandatory 7 days of quarantine.
Karnataka Rajasthan
Travellers must be fully vaccinated, and 28 days must have elapsed from the time of administration.
Bihar
72 hours prior to the time of journey.
Himachal Pradesh Punjab
Travellers must have taken the first dose of the vaccination, and 2 weeks must have elapsed since the date of administration.
Goa
72 hours prior to the time of journey.
Andhra Pradesh Meghalaya
Travellers must show a fully vaccinated certificate, except travellers from – Maharashtra, Delhi, UP, Bihar West Bengal, Karnataka, and Kerala.
Gujarat
(excluding Vadodara & Rajkot)72 hours prior to the time of journey
Telangana Nagaland
Final vaccination certificate or a negative RT-PCR test taken no earlier than 72 hours before departure.
Jharkhand
RT-PCR: 72 hours prior to the time of journey.
RAT: 24 hours prior to the time of journey.
Haryana Odisha
Show your final vaccination certificate to enter. Else, you need a negative RT-PCR or antigen test report taken not earlier than 48 hours prior.
Kerala
72 hours prior to the time of journey.
Gujarat

Only those travelling to Vadodara and Rajkot don’t require a test

Chandigarh
Travellers must have taken the first dose of the vaccination, and 2 weeks must have elapsed since the date of administration.
MP
48 hours prior to the time of journey.
Tamil Nadu

No tests or vaccine certificates needed to enter. But if you are flying to Coimbatore from outside the state, airlines advise that you carry a negative RT-PCR report not earlier than 72 hours before departure. Else, you may have to undergo a test on arrival.

48 hours prior to the time of journey.
Manipur
72 hours prior to the time of journey.
Mizoram
West Bengal
72 hours prior to the time of journey, and mandatory 14 days quarantine.

Uttar Pradesh
